running water!

Before we went on furlough, we were used to it: the fact that we almost never had water from the tap. For several years now, the water company has been unable to handle the water supply throughout Atakpame. For the last two years, it was common to have water about twice a week: from around 2 a.m. to 5 a.m..... But our entire household was set up for this and we filled all our barrels and tubs at night so that we had water during the day.

But after three months in Europe, we suddenly realised what an impact this actually had on our daily lives! Always dragging buckets of washing-up water to flush the toilet and asking someone to help you wash your hands after going to the toilet....

We asked prayer for it in our app group and in response received a donation that allowed us to drill for water in our garden! It was quite an operation and I have never seen so much mud....but it was all worth it! Water was drilled at a depth of 57 metres and now we have access to unlimited water because at this depth there is always water.

What a blessing!!! Especially now that we are in the middle of the hot season.... We can shower under a running tap and don't have to go out at night! In addition, we can be a blessing to our neighbours...many of them use a well for much of the year....but in these last months of the dry season, many wells fall dry.
